Discover a Warm Welcome

The Human Resources team provides payroll, group benefits and pension administration to the University community.

Full-time employees are eligible for the following group insurance benefits: Basic Life Insurance of 1.5 x salary (includes coverage for Accidental Death and Dismemberment – AD&D), Dependent Life insurance (if applicable), Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Health and Dental if comparable coverage (for Health and Dental) is not available through a spousal plan. Redeemer University College pays 100% of the insurance premium for Dependent Life (if applicable) and 80% of the insurance premium for Health & Dental (at the Flex 2 or Flex 3 level, depending which option is selected). Additional Optional Life Insurance is available at cost to the employee. The employee share of the benefit costs is received through payroll deduction.

Employees between half-time and full-time receive the proportionate benefit.

Full-time employees are enrolled in the Christian Schools International (CSI) Canada Pension Plan and Trust Fund as per the Plan agreement. Employees contribute six percent of their direct salary or wages to the Plan. Redeemer University College matches the employee contribution.

Part-time employees are required to enroll in the CSI Pension Plan and Trust Fund after completion of one year of regular, part-time employment. However, if the direct salary or wages are less than 35% of the Year’s Maximum Pensionable earnings (YMPE), part-time employees are not eligible to enroll in the CSI Pension Plan and Trust Fund.

University employees are paid on a semi-monthly basis through direct deposit. Employees who report hours are paid one pay period in arrears; all others are paid to date. Pay statements are issued in electronic format for secure on-line viewing.
