Biology Department
Mission Statement

The biology program is designed to prepare a student for a career in science or other related vocations by providing a thorough investigation of organisms, and how they relate to one another and to the biosphere.

These courses are taught from a Christian perspective encouraging students to appreciate the powers of our Creator, and their own roles as stewards of His creation. Furthermore, students are made aware of the underlying presuppositions between faith and science. This relationship is addressed throughout the program, and is dealt with comprehensively in the history of science and philosophy of science courses taken by all science majors.

By examining the role of faith in science, the biology program encourages the student to proclaim the redemptive power of Christ in a predominantly secular scientific world.
