BACHELOR OF EDUCATION


 
 

All courses can be viewed in the Academic Calendar but the following provides an overview of the types of courses you would take.

Foundational Courses
You will take a variety of courses such as Introduction to Teaching, Learning and Development, History of Education, and Systems of Education. These courses provide an overview of the child, classroom, and educational systems.
 
Curriculum Studies Courses
These courses are designed to provide you with an understanding of the core curricular areas that are found in schools. All students take curriculum courses in language arts, math, social studies, science, and physical education and health. Optional courses are available in areas such as music, French as a second language, and visual arts.
 
Elective Courses
You can take a number of elective courses which will supplement your foundational and curriculum courses. Elective courses can include Reading Problems and Remediation, Religious Education, Teaching in Multicultural Classrooms, and Children’s Literature

Assistant Professor in Education

Finding her home in the Christian School community, Dr. Ashun specifically enjoys focusing on how to motivate children to learn and how to motivate teacher’s to teach better.
