English Department

If you're considering the study of English as your path through university, it's probably because you've been gifted with a special sense of the richness and power of language in stories, plays or poems.

Or perhaps you have a flair for putting words together and would like to sharpen those skills.

Either way, you've come to see this art of putting thought into words as one of God's great gifts to us, and a reflection of his own amazing creativity.

In Redeemer's Department of English, you will meet people who share your love of language and literature, and are committed to using these gifts to honour the Lord who has given them.

You will study the history and development of English into a world literature. There will be many opportunities for creative writing. In your senior classes, you will lead seminars with your peers. You will even have the opportunity to study as an “associate” student at Oxford University in England for a semester.
