Professor Irene Grace Bom

 

Prof. Bom grew up on an apple orchard near Woodstock, Ontario. She graduated from Redeemer University College in 1992 with a double honours degree in English and French. She obtained her MA in English literature from Queen's University in Kingston. Currently, in her PhD research at Queen's, Prof. Bom has been focussing on the fictional on the fictional and philosophical texts of Margaret Cavendish, a prolific 17th-century author interested in early modern science.

Prof. Bom spent one year as news editor for the Christian Courier, a Christian weekly published in St. Catharines, Ontario. Her other interests include singing and song writing, art, dance, and missions.
