English Department

100-Level Courses serve two functions: they are the English core of all degree programs at Redeemer and also the introduction to the English major.

         Courses offered are:
               ENG101: Composition
               ENG103: Introduction to Fiction
ENG104: Introduction to Poetry & Drama

200-level courses are intended for students in the first and second years of their English program. With the exception of the expository writing course, 200-level courses involve both a greater amount and a deeper level of reading than first-year English courses.  Classes are capped at 40-45 students in order to make it possible to have good class discussions.

         Courses offered are:
               201: Expository Writing I
221: Canadian Literature in English I
222: Canadian Literature in English II
               241: Literature and the Environment
               251: Children’s Literature
257: History of the British Novel
               261: British Drama Survey
