Mission Statement

God formed the land, the sky, and the seas,
making the earth a fitting home for the plants, animals,
and humans he created.
The world was filled with color, beauty, and variety;
it provided room for work and play,

worship and service, love and laughter.

God directs and bends to his will all that happens in his world.
As history unfolds in ways we only know in part,
all things – from crops to grades, from jobs to laws – are under his control.
God is present in our world by his Word and Spirit.
The faithfulness of our great Provider
gives sense to our days and hope to our years.

In education, we seek to acknowledge the Lord
by promoting teaching in which the light of his Word shines

in all learning.
- Excerpts from “Our World Belongs to God” (par. 9, 13 and 50)

Through observation and analysis, students explore the apparently unending and wonderful variety of ways in which basic principles are manifested in situations ranging from the ordinary to the exotic. Physics is an ongoing activity by which men and women, in their cultural and historical setting, seek to discover the underlying principles of the physical world.

The faithfulness and providential activity of the Creator is revealed in the behaviour and physical properties of matter (or energy) which can be understood and described by the laws and theories of physics. Although people with different fundamental assumptions and beliefs contribute to this growing body of knowledge, the interpretation of the results is, in fact, dependent on one’s view of reality.

The results of the physical sciences ought to be employed to the unfolding of the creation in a way that honours God, that maintains the dignity of human beings as His image bearers, and that fosters responsible stewardship of his creation.
