Redeemer has an articulation agreement with the Engineering Department at McMaster University to officially recognize various Redeemer courses as equivalent to a variety of first year engineering courses and electives at McMaster. Prospective students should be aware that there are 3 additional courses not offered at Redeemer that students must complete in order to be eligible to transfer into second year engineering at McMaster.
These courses include: ENG1C03 (Graphics Communication), MATLS1M03 (Material Science), and ENG1P03 (Introduction to Professional Engineering). Redeemer students can apply for a Letter of Permission
for the summer session to take ENG1C03 and MATLS1M03 during the summer at McMaster. Students can check the summer timetable at McMaster University to find out when these course are offered in the summer
. In addition, students should note that acceptance into the Engineering program at McMaster is a competitive process and Redeemer does not guarantee admission. Acceptances are based on the type of engineering program, and each program has its own GPA requirements which may vary from year to year.
The Pre-Engineering Track allows students to begin their studies at Redeemer and transfer their courses towards Engineering level 1 at McMaster University. This option will be of interest to future students interested in getting a first year of solid Christian academic grounding before pursuing further studies in Engineering. Redeemer also has an articulation agreement with Dordt College. This agreement allows prospective students the option to begin at Redeemer and then continue their engineering studies at a sister Christian college.
