The Pre-Seminary program is designed for students who wish to pursue further studies to prepare for the ordained ministry or for a vocation in church education. The four-year pre-seminary program provides students with good grounding in the humanities, social sciences, the Greek language and oral communication, enabling them to meet the admission requirements for the M. Div. program at most seminaries.
Because admission requirements vary, students intending to enter a seminary are advised to consult the calendar of the seminary of choice.
The following courses are suggested to be included in a program at Redeemer University College, and should meet admission requirements for most M.Div. programs:
- GRE-201, GRE-202, GRE-301, GRE-302
- 8 courses from English, History and Philosophy (minimum of two in each)
- 2 courses in each of Natural Science, Social Science and Communications/Speech
- some seminaries require one year of a modern second language
Quite often a major in the Humanities Group and a minor in Classical Studies will help a student to meet those requirements. Please see page 61 of the 2009-10 Academic Calendar for further related requirements.
