Theatre Arts Department

Theatre studies are for the whole human being—body, mind and spirit.

At Redeemer, you will be challenged to explore the range of human experience through observation, analysis and performance. We work with the understanding that everything has been created by God—your body, your voice, your mind and, therefore, your interactions with culture. Since theatre is found in almost every corner of the globe it would seem to indicate that we are meant to tell stories this way. You will be challenged to think and respond to the world authentically, whether you are in the classroom, on the stage, or working behind the scenes.

You will also have the benefit of working with a number of dedicated teachers and professional directors—all of whom offer a fresh and unique approach to broaden your experience as scholars, actors, directors, technicians and playwrights.

Where do we need to be in the world to make it a better place? The aim of the Theatre Arts program here is to prepare you for life and to help you discover how you can best use your gifts and training to serve, and even change, the world.

We believe that something particularly special happens when people create theatre Christianly, for the glory of God. When we put productions together, we establish a community.
