Facilities

Auditorium

The Redeemer University College Auditorium is our primary public performance space. We typically perform two major productions there a year. Numerous smaller and more experimental works are performed in the Studio Theatre. Student scenes are typically produced there as well.

Studio Theatre

Affectionately referred to as the Black Box, the Studio is the primary performance teaching space for actors and directors. As a performance hall, seating is limited to around 70 persons, but its real strength lies in its excellent acoustics and its staging flexibility. It is equipped with both sound and lighting systems. One reviewer called the space, “the best small theatre space in Hamilton.”

Backstage

Dressing rooms have recently been refitted to better accommodate theatre productions. New counter tops, sinks, storage facilities, lights and improved ventilation make the backstage area user friendly and professional. The newly refitted “greenroom” provides a comfortable resting place for performers and technical staff before and during productions.

Ray Louter
Associate Professor

“Reclaim your body, both the beautiful and the ordinary without fear. People are going to see you anyways, so let them see you.” How else can we honestly speak about faith matters, Louter asks?
