A student who wishes to withdraw from the university must fill out the Withdrawal Notification Form. Tuition refund is based on the date on which the completed withdrawal form is presented to the Registrar (see p. 23 of the Academic Calendar). If you are withdrawing after the last day to drop a course without a transcript record but before the last day to drop a course, grades of “WP” or “WF” will be recorded on the transcript reflecting whether the student was passing or failing courses at the time of withdrawal. Students who withdraw after the last day to drop a course are normally granted the grade based on all evaluation requirements for the course (including a final exam), which often means a failure. A withdrawal grade (W) may be assigned in extenuating circumstances. A statement at the bottom of the transcript will indicate the date of the students’ withdrawal. Any student who withdraws from the university without completing the official withdrawal form will have a grade of “F” recorded for all courses in which he or she is enrolled. Appeals will be considered on a case-by-case scenario and must be presented in writing to the Registrar.

Students who withdraw from the university may request the Registrar’s Office that a program audit be completed to determine whether he or she may be eligible for a certificate (p 60 of the Academic Calendar). If eligible, a certificate will be mailed out from the Registrar’s Office.
