Making an appointment guarantees that a Writing Centre Reader will be available to meet with you; nevertheless, you are welcome to drop by the centre during operating hours to see if a reader is free or to check out the writing manuals and handouts.

Appointments are available in half-hour and hour-long time slots, on the hour.

How to make an appointment:

The best way to make an appointment is by signing yourself up in our schedule book, which can be found in the Writing Centre when we’re open or in the hallway outside the centre when we’re closed. This way, you can see exactly what spaces are available.

You may also call the Writing Centre at extension 4482 during office hours, or leave a message specifying the time you’d like to come. Someone will return your call to confirm whether there is an opening at the time you have requested.

Emailing writing@redeemer.ca is a final possibility, but this method does not ensure that you will get the time slot you want. Please allow for a few days to receive a return message.

 

Late Policy:

If you are more than five minutes late for your appointment, and someone is waiting to be helped, your timeslot will be given to that person. We will do our best to reschedule with you. If you are more than five minutes late, but no one has been waiting for service, then you can still receive help.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, we request that you call the Writing Centre so that someone else may take your spot. You are welcome to reschedule for another available time.
