Alumni Governance

Alumni programming is a joint effort between the Alumni Office at Redeemer and the Alumni Association Council of Directors. Together, they lead and direct the Redeemer Alumni Association, an organization of more than 3600 alumni. All former Redeemer students who have completed 8 courses or more are automatically members of the Redeemer Alumni Association.

Through the work of the Council and the Alumni Office, the Association remains active in the lives of students, alumni and the university through a variety of activities and events. Increasingly, alumni are taking a greater role in the governance and promotion of Redeemer University College.

The Council is assisted by many other alumni who volunteer their time to serve on committees or do other work on behalf of alumni and Redeemer. If you are interested in serving on the Council or otherwise volunteering for the Association, please contact the Alumni Office.

The Association and Council are guided by a Constitution (PDF), a Council Member Position Description (PDF), and a Council Member Commitment Statement.

The following Vision Statements guide the Council in managing the affairs of the Association. The Redeemer Alumni Association:

  • Is a recognized, respected and active constituency of the Redeemer community.
  • Is governed by a Council whose members have a clear understanding of the mission and vision of the Association and of their role in advancing the work of the Association.
  • Promotes and supports Redeemer alumni so that they can advance our mission and work out God’s calling in their various communities (geographic, demographic, ecclesiastical, vocational, etc.).
  • Has a multi-faceted, integrated and interactive communication strategy that promotes the mission of the Association to, and solicits feedback from, alumni.
  • Actively supports students as they make plans for work, studies and life beyond Redeemer.
