Canadian Citizens and Residents
Canadian citizens and residents may apply for Canada Student Loans (CSL) and Provincial Student Loans.  This government loan assistance program is designed to help needy students pay for their postsecondary education.  The CSL is awarded by the federal government, and is negotiated with the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC).  (Canadian students residing outside Canada may apply for CSL.  Contact Financial Aid for more information.)  Applications are available through your province of residence:

Redeemer University College students who are citizens of the United States are eligible for funding through the Direct Loan Program.  In order to determine qualification, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Redeemer's FAFSA code is G33485.  Application for a Stafford Loan is then made through the Department of Education by completing an electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN) at StudentLoans.gov.
 
Based on the FAFSA and the student's level of study, Redeemer will certify the issuance of a Stafford Loan.  It can be subsidized (interest is paid by the government while you are in school), unsubsidized (you pay each month's interest on the loan while you are in school) or a portion of each.  Parents may also apply for a PLUS loan.  Further information can be found at students.gov or by contacting the Financial Aid Office at Redeemer.
