The ROM is preparing for a stunning exhibition featuring objects never before seen in Canada and we’re looking forward to offering one of our excursions and lectures focusing on this exhibit. Join Professor Vreugdenhil for an evening lecture exploring the Mayan history and culture, and then travel with us to the ROM for lunch and a guided tour of the exhibit.
Professor Helen Vreugdenhil is a professor of history at Redeemer University College. Her courses include the Ancient World, Africa and Asia. Her research interests include the role of empires in the forming of world history

CE-1001-C: Picasso and his Masterpieces – Lecture at Redeemer & Trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario
The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) will present a major survey of masterworks by the most inventive and influential artist of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso. Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris features more than 150 highlights from the Musée’s unparalleled collection, including paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings. Join Professor Cuthill for a lecture at Redeemer and then travel with us to the AGO for an exceptional excursion including a guided tour and lunch.
Professor Chris Cuthill has been with the Art Department at Redeemer for the last ten years, teaching courses in Art Theory, Art History and Popular Culture. A practicing artist, Chris has exhibited work in Canada, the United States and Europe; his favoured media include fabric, pen and ink, and water colour.

CE-1001-B: Plenty to be said for Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing - Lecture at Redeemer & Trip to Stratford
The Stratford Shakespeare Theatre is celebrating 60 seasons and we want to celebrate right along with them! As Claudio woos his beloved Hero, his friend Benedick and Hero’s cousin Beatrice trade insults in their “merry war” of mutual disdain. But as Claudio’s wedding day approaches, a series of deceptions – both friendly and malicious – brings about more than one dramatic change of heart. Join Professer Klassen for a lecture giving you some background about this play, and then join us for a day trip including a day at Stratford, a memorable performance, and lunch.
Professor Sharon Klassen teaches in the Theatre Arts Department at Redeemer, including courses in Dramatic Literature, Theatre History and Musical Theatre.
