Welcome Current Students
The Application for Scholarships and Bursaries for the 2011-2012 study period is now closed.  The deadline to submit all completed application materials to the Financial Aid Office was March 31, 2011.
 
Awards that are open to all returning students are described below.
Award descriptions for specific majors/programs can be found by exploring the menu on the left.

Awards Open to All Returning Students
 
Academic Divisions Scholarship
  • Students entering their 2nd year of study
  • Must have a declared major and a high GPA 
Alumni Leadership Award
  • Students entering their final (4th or 5th) year of studies
  • Minimum CGPA of 7.0 (B-)
  • Submit a completed Alumni Awards application form (.pdf)
  • Submit a letter describing your extracurricular activities, how your involvement in these activities demonstrates leadership and how you see your leadership activities affecting your life after Redeemer
*Alumni Leadership Bursary
*Amber Applegate Memorial Bursary
  • Student demonstrating financial need
  • Student interested in primary education
  • Submit a one-page statement of "faith in action" describing your work with children

Anne De Boer Leadership Award

  • Submit a short essay and activity list which clearly describes how you are actively involved in meeting the needs of the community in a leadership role

Athletic Department Soccer Scholarship

  • Participant on a varsity soccer team
  • Minimum CGPA of 7.0 (B-)
  • Demonstrates leadership in athletics, Christian values, dedication to the soccer team, and development of talents

*Blue Jean Bursary

  • Student demonstrating financial need

*Cheryl S. Buiter Scholarship for Women's Leadership

  • Female student entering their 3rd or 4th year
  • Minimum CGPA of 9.0 (B+)

*Clarence & Joyce Tigchelaar Memorial Bursary

  • Student demonstrating financial need

*Developing Nations Ministry Award

  • Student entering their 3rd or 4th year of study
  • Submit a short statement which describes faith and vision of working in a developing country or in a minority community in North America

*de Waard Family Endowment Bursary

*Fluit Developing Countries Mission and Humanitarian Award
  • Student entering their 3rd or 4th year
  • Submit a short statement which describes aspirations regarding missions and/or humanitarian work in developing countries, especially if you are from the country

*Harry & Anne Voortman Mission Bursary

  • Submit an offical letter of acknowledgement from the mission agency that employs your parents, stating that your parents will be employed for the academic year of 2011-2012

*Ina Prinzen Health Sciences Bursary

  • Student demonstrating financial need
  • Student who intends to pursue a career in the health sciences
  • Submit a short statement which describes future educational and career goals in health sciences
*International Student Bursary
  • Student demonstrating financial need
  • Student whose citizenship and ordinary residence is outside Canada and the U.S.
  • Good academic standing and student involvement

*Lakewood Bursary

*Mephibosheth Bursary

  • Student with a physical or sensory disability
  • Student demonstrating financial need

*Milk & Honey Bursary

  • Student demonstrating financial need

*Prins Family Bursary

  • Student demonstrating financial need

RUC Environmental Stewardship Scholarship

  • Submit a written statement outlining your understanding of "earth keeping" as part of our "cultural mandate" and describing your involvement in environmental stewardship

RUC Leadership Scholarships

  • Minimum CGPA of 7.0 (B-)
  • Submit a list of clubs, groups and activities that you are involved in and describe your leadership role in each

*RUC Bursary for Non-Ontario Students

  • Students whose home province/state/country does not give need-based funding when they study outside their own jurisdiction
  • Must apply for government assistance in your permanent place of residence
Student Service Award
  • Awarded to one male and one female student
  • Submit an essay highlighting activities and describing how you are involved in each
*Sun Light Foundation Leadership Scholarship
  • Student entering their 3rd or 4th year
  • Minimum CGPA of 9.0 (B+)
  • Student demonstrating financial need
  • Submit a one-page statement describing your leadership activities, your view of scholarship and your career plans

*Vision Nursing/Rest Home Bursaries

  • Submit a one-page essay describing your future career goals as a health care professional and your interest in working with elderly persons
  • Priority given to residents of Lambton County; then Kent County; then Ontario

*Voortman Cookies Bursary

  • Student with a parent employed by Voortman Cookies
