1. How do I contact security?

2. What hours can I reach them?

3. What if I am locked out of my dorm room?
You can go to the Security Office inside the academic building between the hours of 4 pm – midnight. A security guard will verify your accommodation and let you into your dorm. If you are locked out during the day, please call 905-961-4444 and the on-call person will do the same.
4. What do I do if I lose my keys?
For a lost or missing dorm key you should contact Security who can issue a replacement. This key will be picked up the Security Office. For a lost or missing mailbox key please contact Student Life. Please note that any replacement key will require an additional deposit of $50 dollars to be paid (either by cash or on your student account).
5. What if a door other than your dorm door needs to be opened?
Should you require access to a room other than your dorm, please call security at 905-961-4444 for access. You will need to provide authorization for such a need.
6. Where do I pick up my keys?
Dorm and mailbox keys are handed out during check-in days at the start of the school year. This is done in the gymnasium as part of the check-in process. Should you check in at a time other than check-in day, Admissions will provide you with details regarding your keys.
7. I am moving to the campus from a small community. How safe is the campus?
The campus is located on 80 acres in Ancaster, a small community now part of Hamilton. Incident rates are low, and because of the relative anonymity there few unwanted guests on campus at any time. Security is kept busy primarily dealing with parking issues and pranks by Redeemer students.
8. I have a car. Where do I get my parking permit?
If you live on campus and have a car, or are a commuting student, a parking pass is required. This can be obtained during the normal check-in day, or by calling the Security Department – 905-961-4444. Permit applications must be filled out and signed, and are available at the Security Office and also at the administration office. Yearly parking permits are required for all students, faculty and staff. Permits are available for only $50 per academic year. Please see Parking Regulations in the services section for further details.
9. Where can I park/not park my car?
There are a number of designated parking lots, including Visitors, Box Office, Academic South, Academic North, Calvin, Luther and Cranmer Courts and Augustine Hall. Visitor parking is reserved for visitors to our campus. The box office is reserved for people purchasing tickets. The parking at the different residences is reserved for students who have permits designated for those parking lots. Academic South and North are available for any students, staff, faculty and guests to the campus. Parking, however, is not permitted overnight in the Academic South parking lot. Tickets will be issued for contraventions of this and any parking regulation.
10. How do I know where to park?

11. What if I have visitors on campus? Overnight?
Guest parking passes are available from the Security Office (after 4 pm). Vehicle information is required, and passes are valid for up to 7 days.

15. I’ve lost something – where do I look for it?
Redeemer Security maintains a Lost & Found; Student Life and Reception also maintain a Lost & Found. Items are kept for up to 30 days; they are then disposed of through a give-away or donated to a local charity.
16. There is an emergency on campus – what do I do?
If the emergency requires EMS, fire or police, please call 911. Then call Security at 905-961-4444 to apprise them of the situation, allowing them to act appropriately in directing emergency personnel to the proper location.
