The landlord will get an email asking about their rental accommodation from an international student (or someone too far away to personally come and look at the property). Then, after receiving information, the person will be delighted to take the place and send the down payment required. However, after sending an overpayment of $2,000 - 3,000 in the form of a money order or traveller’s cheque, an urgent email will come stating the person's accountant made a mistake and requests a partial return of the money. The landlord will then be instructed to send the money back by ‘Western Union’ to the address of the travel agent. A month later, the original money order or traveller's cheque is found to be counterfeit. The landlord will not be able to retrieve the money sent by 'Western Union' and will be out thousands of dollars.

Otherwise, payment in the form of cash or cheque payable to Redeemer University College must be mailed to Redeemer in order for this listing to be posted. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. A separate fee must be paid for each rental listed (even if on the same property). Upon receipt of payment, the ad will be posted for a maximum of four weeks unless a renewal request is made within the four-week time frame. Renewal requests are the responsibility of the landlord. Changes to the listings can be made at the landlord’s request. Please notify Student Life if your listing is no longer available. Redeemer University College reserves the right to remove or refuse a listing.
Fees:
$20 = 4 weeks
$10 = renew for another 4 weeks
