The Crown
Redeemer’s student newspaper The Crown is a collage of different genres of journalistic storytelling—from news to features and commentary—that are different ways to tell the “grand narrative” of the Bible in which the unfolding story of Redeemer is a part.
The Crown offers all students, regardless of whether you have writing experience, the opportunity to develop your journalistic skills covering campus events, delving into controversial issues (including those that extend the focus beyond the boundaries of the campus), and entertaining your readers with lively reviews and light-hearted commentary.
Getting involved is easy: just contact the 2009-10 Editor-in-Chief, Jordan Burgsma, at thecrown@redeemer.ca with a story proposal. Or, if you’re not sure what to write about, simply tell us your interest; there are always lots of events and ideas waiting to be covered throughout the year. Just ask!
The Minstrel
The Minstrel is Redeemer’s literary magazine. It is an avenue for students of Redeemer to publish fiction and poetry, and it aims to encourage the creative writing of the student body.
The editor and assistant editor are chosen by the student body to best represent the students’ literary work. For the academic year 2009-10, the editor is Peter Frieswick, Ministrel.Submit@gmail.com.
