Research & Faculty Development
The final reports of all previously awarded Redeemer University College grant projects must have been submitted to the Research & Faculty Development office before any subsequent applications will be considered by the Committee.

INTERNAL RESEARCH GRANTS
These grants are intended to support faculty members in their active development of small-scale research projects.
To be eligible, faculty must be either full-time or have received a sessional/terminal appointment and have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
These grants are intended to support faculty projects related to the development or delivery of instructional materials.  Attendance at conferences or workshops related to course/pedagogical development may qualify for funding.  It is expected that the funded project involved active development, ie. preparation and presentation of a paper, preparing a distance education course, etc.  Mere attendance of a conference on the topic will receive low priority.
To be eligible, faculty must be either full-time or have received a sessional/terminal appointment and have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

INVITED TRAVEL FUNDING
These funds are awarded to faculty members who have received a special invitation
to speak or perform on the basis of their scholarly accomplishments to date.
To be eligible, faculty must be either full-time or have received a sessional/terminal appointment and have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

GRANTS IN AID OF PUBLICATION
These grants are intended to support faculty in the publication of research that has been accepted for publication. These grants are intended to defray expenses incurred as part of the final publication process (i.e. indexing, copyright permissions, etc.).
To be eligible, faculty must be either full-time or have received a sessional/terminal appointment and have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

COURSE RELEASE
Only full-time faculty are eligible to apply for course releases.  Faculty members may apply for and hold only one research grant at a time.  Applications due September 1 for research to be conducted the following academic year.

SABBATICAL
Sabbatical research leaves are for a period of one teaching semester and one summer or two teaching semesters and one summer.  Sabbatical research leaves are granted based on an evaluation of the appropriateness of the planned scholarly activity.  Normally, a faculty member is eligible to apply for a sabbatical research leave after six years of service.  The faculty member on a summer-plus-one semester sabbatical will receive for the 12-month academic year 95% of a full-year salary.  For a full-year sabbatical the faculty member will receive 80% of a full-year salary.  Applications must be made before September 1 of the year preceding the academic year during which the sabbatical research leave is to take place.
