Christian higher education, specifically at the university level, comes at a time in students’ lives when they are making critical decisions about their identity, their relationships, their view on world issues, and about their faith commitments.

As followers of Christ, we have a communal desire and responsibility to see our young people flourish as Christian disciples. Redeemer’s purpose is to develop students who have a Christian vision, a purpose for their lives and for society, and a desire and motivation to make a contribution in the community where they live.

Tuition for this academic year is $13,740 and will continue to rise even with sound financial management and fiscal responsibility. It is critical to keep Redeemer university education an affordable and accessible option for our youth.

That is where the Redeemer Fund comes in. Redeemer does not receive government funding for the operation of the school or our programs. For 2011-12, the Board of Governors approved a budget of over $20 million. It is expected that the revenue from tuition & fees, on campus housing, various grants will amount to 85% of the required amount, leaving $2.57 million to be raised in charitable donations from individuals, businesses, churches, and foundations.

This year, our need for your support is even more urgent. Enrolment, while still strong, has dipped from last year's all-time high. Since our annual budget is based on the past year's enrolment, we are facing a projected budget shortfall of $300,000. Part of this shortfall will be met through expenditure reductions, but it will still be necessary to raise additional donations.
