The Associate Vice-President, Enrolment (AVPE) reports to the President and provides strategic leadership in enrollment management at Redeemer University. This role focuses on building the prospective student base, meeting enrollment targets, and driving retention strategies.

The Redeemer community of nearly 1,100 students is served by approximately 200 expert, caring faculty and staff.

The Position

The Associate Vice-President, Enrolment (AVPE) reports to the President and provides strategic leadership in enrollment management at Redeemer University. This role focuses on building the prospective student base, meeting enrollment targets, and driving retention strategies. As part of the senior leadership team, the AVPE oversees admissions, recruitment, financial aid, retention efforts, and enrollment data analysis. They collaborate closely with Marketing, Financial Services, and Academic planning to ensure institutional efficiency and alignment with the University’s mission and vision.

This is a 100%FTE role

Responsibilities

Institutional Enrollment Planning, Strategy, and Policies (35%)

  • Strategic Planning & Management: Lead multi-year planning for personnel, budget, and resources to improve enrollment functions like Financial Aid, Admissions Operations, Recruitment, and Graduate Studies.
  • Enrollment Forecasting: Oversee enrollment target forecasting for retention and recruitment, integrating it into financial and budget plans, while supervising data analysis and quality assurance efforts (e.g., NSSE, CUSC).
  • Data-Driven Collaboration: Work with Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Affairs to align enrollment strategies with academic goals and operational sustainability.
  • Long-Term Recruitment Strategy: Develop strategies for prospect base growth, multi-year enrollment targets, and recruitment in line with the university's strategic plan.
  • Policy Development: Establish and review effective enrollment policies regularly.
  • Admissions Leadership: Oversee admissions timelines, communications, and the student experience, while collaborating on admissions policy development with the Vice President, Academic, and Registrar’s Office.

Annual Operational Plans for New Student Recruitment (20%)

  • Annual Recruitment Plan: Develop and support an annual recruitment plan for undergraduate students, ensuring alignment between admissions operations and front-line recruitment efforts.
  • Program-Specific Strategies: Oversee recruitment strategies for professional programs, certificate programs, and micro-credentials.
  • Collaborative Execution: Work with institutional leaders to implement recruitment strategies for all programs and respond effectively to changes in the recruitment funnel during the cycle.

Financial Aid Strategy and Planning (15%)

  • Oversee the execution and effectiveness of financial aid plans and operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance financial aid impact on enrollment and student experience.

Institutional Retention Efforts (15%)

  • Retention Planning Leadership: Lead centralized retention planning and develop collaborative strategies to ensure organizational success in retaining students.
  • Multi-Year Retention Strategy: Collaborate with academic and student services departments to create and refine a multi-year retention strategy into actionable annual plans.
  • Lifecycle Retention Culture: Promote awareness of full student lifecycle retention, from initial engagement as prospects to long-term alumni connections.

University Leadership Contributions (10%)

  • Strategic Direction: Participate in the President’s Council, contributing to the university's strategic direction, policy development, and cross-divisional initiatives.
  • Leadership and Consulting: Offer strategic leadership and guidance to the president and Board on goals, regulatory compliance, and resource allocation to meet institutional objectives.
  • Campus Experience Insights: Provide input on campus design and aesthetics, focusing on layout, visual appeal, and user-centered improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management (5%)

  • Build high-level relationships with external stakeholders, denominational leaders, and education organizations.
  • Support institutional partnerships and foster long-term engagement for recruitment and program development.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
  • Strong understanding of the Reformed Christian perspective and ability to communicate the university's mission effectively to diverse communities.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales communication, prospect development, personal engagement, and retention strategies, particularly in higher education.
  • Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, data analysis, and organizational operations like HR and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, surveys, forecasting, demographics, metrics, and database management.
Education, Training & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with 10 years of leadership experience in university admissions and enrollment, including 5+ years in enrollment, recruitment, or a related sales role, preferably in higher education.
Other Requirements
  • Understanding of Redeemer University (mission, values, and Reformed Christian identity)
