Women’s Soccer Technical Development Coach

The Position: 

Redeemer University Athletics is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to serve as a Women’s Soccer Technical Development Coach, supporting the Royals Women’s Soccer coaching staff in the continued development of student-athletes both on and off the field. This role is designed for a coach who specializes in individual player development, technical training, and skill refinement within a high-performance university environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to a Christ-centered athletics culture that challenges student-athletes to pursue excellence in competition, academics, leadership, and spiritual growth while using sport as a platform to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Technical Development

  • Design and lead technical training sessions focused on individual player development, including first touch, ball mastery, passing, finishing, movement, and positional technical growth.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and assistant coaching staff to align technical training with team tactics and overall program philosophy.
  • Provide individual feedback, video analysis, and developmental plans to support player progression throughout the season and offseason.
  • Assist in the evaluation and development of players during practices, training sessions, ID camps, and exhibition opportunities.
  • Support the development of goal-setting and performance standards within the women’s soccer program.

Coaching Support

  • Assist with practice planning, session execution, and match preparation throughout the academic year.
  • Contribute to game analysis, scouting preparation, and player performance reviews.
  • Support team culture initiatives and leadership development opportunities within the program.
  • Collaborate with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure technical development complements physical development goals.

Recruitment & Program Development

  • Assist the coaching staff in identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes who align with Redeemer University’s mission and athletics culture.
  • Support recruiting visits, ID camps, and outreach initiatives connected to the women’s soccer program.
  • Assist in creating a positive and developmental training environment that promotes retention and long-term athlete growth.

Spiritual Leadership

  • Demonstrate Christian values in attitudes, words, and actions that positively reflect the testimony of Jesus Christ and Redeemer University.
  • Support the spiritual growth and discipleship of student-athletes through mentorship, encouragement, and leadership.
  • Contribute to the Athletics Department’s Vertical Purpose initiative and the ongoing development of Christ-centered team culture.

Preferred Skills and Attributes: 

  • Strong understanding of technical soccer development within a high-performance environment.
  • Ability to effectively teach and communicate technical concepts to university athletes.
  • Passion for mentorship, leadership development, and discipleship through sport.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented coaching staff.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the competitive season.

Education/Training:

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Coaching experience within competitive soccer environments is preferred.
  • Experience working with female athletes is considered an asset.
  • NCCP certification and/or relevant soccer coaching licenses preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required.

Other Requirements:

  • Understanding of and commitment to Redeemer University’s mission, values, and Reformed Christian identity.
  • Ability and desire to work successfully within a team-oriented department environment.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, such as setting up nets and training equipment.
