Redeemer offers 34 majors and streams that lead to either a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The university expects to welcome about 1000 students in the fall, served by approximately 200 faculty and staff.

The Position

The Admissions Visit & Events Coordinator (AVEC) supports the work of the admissions department in the coordination of a thriving campus visit program at Redeemer University that welcomes and informs prospective students and their families. This position serves a critical role in the Admissions department and in contributing to meeting enrolment targets as over 50% of students who attend a campus visit matriculate.

This is an 80% position with preference for full-time hours during the academic year balanced with part-time hours in the summer months.

Responsibilities

Administrative (50%)

  • Maintains the campusvisit@redeemer.ca email account, updates Slate CRM database, and assists in admissions office functions related to visiting students.
  • Coordinate and communicate with admissions staff and other campus stakeholders to ensure a well-rounded event
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises the team of student Campus Ambassadors to ensure that they are providing high-quality customer service and hospitality in all prospective student and parent interactions.
  • Working with the operations team to ensure that the redeemer.ca website, event registration forms, and pre- and post-event communications are maintained and up-to-date.

Visit and event coordination (50%)

  • Providing oversight and coordination of on-campus visit experiences, including, but not limited to:
  • Campus Visits Days (~5-6 per year)
  • Future Student Open House (~2 per year)
  • Individual visits/tours (~150 visits per year)
  • Campus tours, meetings with faculty, class visits, etc.
  • Long distance and overnight visitors
  • Give leadership leading up to and during visits and events, ensuring expectations are set and met, and that each visitor leaves feeling cared for and informed.
  • Tailoring campus visits to meet the expressed needs of prospective students and their families
  • Delegating tasks efficiently and effectively to those involved in the successful execution of events including staff, Campus Ambassadors, faculty, and other departments.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and hospitality to visiting prospective students and their families, building relationships and setting the stage for students in their post-secondary search

  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of faculty, staff, current students, prospective students and their families in person, over the phone and by email, effectively articulating the mission of Redeemer University
  • Demonstrated ability effectively coordinate/organize/prioritize detailed work and meet deadlines under minimal supervision, while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability accurately follow administrative policies, requirements, and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public in a team-oriented environment; ability to represent the Admissions Department and its programs to others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Consistently exercise initiative and good judgment.
  • Database/CRM experience preferred, strong preference for experience in Slate
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional evening and weekend activities.

Education, Training & Certifications

  • A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a university setting, preferably in recruitment-related activities or event planning

Other Requirements

  • Understanding of Redeemer University (mission, values, and Reformed Christian identity)
  • Active membership in a church that nurtures the Christian faith as articulated in the confessional heritage of the Protestant Reformation
  • Participation in communal activity that supports and encourages a university campus environment where the holistic development of all persons embodies Christian principles that advance the mission and Christian character of Redeemer University College
