• Current Redeemer students may take courses at other institutions for credit in their program at Redeemer. These Letter of Permissions courses (LOP) must be deemed important for a student’s program and are courses that are not offered at Redeemer University. The Registrar must approve each LOP course, normally only one LOP course will be permitted per term of study.
  • Apply early! Complete this application a minimum of 15 days prior to the host institution’s deadline.
  • To be eligible for a Letter of Permission course you must:
    1. Provide the webpage link to the course outline of the LOP course.
    2. Provide a rationale for why you want to take a course by LOP.
    3. Have achieved at least year 2 standing at Redeemer.
    4. Have a minimum Redeemer cumulative GPA of 6.0 (C+).

  • Your approval letter will be sent to your RU email account. It is up to you to forward the approval letter to your host institution when you register for the course.

    A $25 administrative fee is levied for each course complete by LOP.
  • The student is responsible for all fees (application, tuition, transcript, university students fees as applicable) as charged by the host institution and for ensuring that a transcript is sent to Redeemer University’s Registrar’s Office upon completion of the course. Should you decide not to take the course, you must notify the Registrar’s Office at both Redeemer University and the host institution before the normal drop date. Courses taken by letter of permission will appear on the Redeemer transcript; however, the grades will not be incorporated into the institutional grade point average. This course must be completed and the transcript received within one year from the term start date.
