REDEEMER UNIVERSITY invites applications for a tenure-track position in Health Sciences beginning in July 2022. Candidates must be aligned with and passionate about Redeemer’s Christian mission of integrating faith in teaching and research. Candidates should possess, or be near completion of, a PhD and have a research program and accomplishments appropriate to their career stage. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record (or show potential) of excellence in undergraduate teaching.

The applicant will teach courses that serve the Health Sciences, Biology, and Biochemistry Programs situated in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Area.  We are seeking an applicant with an academic and research background in a Health Sciences-related discipline and who has: 

  1. an ability and desire to teach a wide variety of courses (including labs) in areas such as Determinants of Health, Epidemiology, Genetics, Microbiology, and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology; 
  2. an interest in supervising students doing internships and senior research projects; 
  3. an ability and desire to do research in a Health Sciences-related field; and   
  4. an interest in teaching in Redeemer’s liberal arts and sciences core program.

Redeemer University is a liberal arts and sciences undergraduate university rooted in the Reformed tradition of Christianity and seeks candidates who are committed to teaching and pursuing scholarship within this framework.

Applicants should submit a letter of application, C.V., evidence of teaching quality, a 1-2-page statement describing their own Christian faith commitment and how it relates to Redeemer’s mission and to their teaching and perspective on the discipline, and the names of three individuals who have agreed to provide letters of reference should the applicant advance to a later stage of the process.
