This course provides students with the opportunity to consider the nature and development of a collaborative learning community from a Christian perspective, as well as the potential impacts such a community might have beyond the classroom. It explores cooperative and collaborative learning elements, considering how they could inform and enable community and collaboration in the classroom. Potential issues and challenges, as well as potential strategies to address them will be identified. The course also considers the nature and purpose of the use of restorative practices in education. The course will provide students with the opportunity to consider the relationship between their teacher identity, view of learning, and the culture they will seek to establish in their classrooms.
