Yesterday, in honour of Canada's 3rd annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Redeemer hosted a viewing of the short film, Bimibatoo-Win: Where I Ran. This film shares the story of Charlie Bittern, a residential school survivor Berens River First Nation. In the film, he remembers the 80-kilometre harsh journey he was forced to run when he was 19 during a brutal Manitoba blizzard in 1967. More then 55 years later, he embarks on the same journey alongside his family to heal and spread awareness for all residential school survivors and the children who didn't make it home.May God give us the humility to lament the wrongs committed against Indigenous children, families and communities, and hope, knowing that he is the God of healing, comfort and restoration. ...
