The Supreme Court of Canada has recognized that every generation grapples with complex moral questions, often turning to criminal law for answers. As Christians, how are we to engage with these issues and meaningfully contribute to the legal process? Does Christianity still have something to offer to our understanding of law and justice today?

Join Christian Legal Fellowship (CLF) and Redeemer University on March 27, 7:30 p.m., for their second annual Public Law Lecture, Criminal Law: The Echo of Faith. Hear from Lowell Hunking, Canadian lawyer, crown prosecutor and speaker, as he draws from his decades of experience in criminal law to share his reflections on these fundamental questions. All are welcome to attend this free and engaging event for an evening of learning, reflection and dialogue.

Following the lecture, there will be a discussion and Q&A with a panel of Christian leaders and legal professionals. Reception to follow. To help us plan accordingly, please register at https://clflawlecture.eventbrite.ca.

The Public Law Lecture Series aims to educate the Christian community on legal issues from a distinctly Christian perspective and inspire Christians to pursue a career in law as a vocation or a ministry.

Lowell Hunking‘s 34 years at the bar have been primarily as a crown attorney. He has recently retired as the director of crown attorney operations for the West Region, to devote more time to his ailing wife of 45 years. Prior to his 11 years as director, he was crown attorney for Dufferin County and Bruce County in Ontario, and also served as a trial lawyer.

Lowell took a break from his practice and attended Asbury Seminary and pastored churches in Ft. Lauderdale and Cleveland. Prior to studying law at Osgoode Hall Law School, Lowell was a police officer in Waterloo Region.
