Dr. Lindsey Short, Assistant Professor of Psychology will present on, “A Christian Framework for Expertise in Face Recognition: Reconciling Modern Research in Face Perception within a Creation, Fall, Redemption Narrative.” This is an event for faculty, staff, students and guests.

Young adults are experts in face processing; however, they show profound deficits in recognizing the faces of other-race individuals and of older adults. In this address, Dr. Short will explore explanations for such biases in perception, and in doing so, she will demonstrate how the Christian worldview offers a unique lens through which we can understand both expertise and limitations in face processing.
