The 34th convocation for the conferring of degrees for the graduating Class of 2019 will be held on May 25.
Graduation Speaker: Graham Cubitt
Address Title: Forging the Future with a Kingdom Imagination
In a world of seemingly intractable problems, how can we live towards the promised reality of the Kingdom of God through the Spirit’s imaginative stirrings?
Bio: Graham Cubitt, the recipient of Redeemer’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014, is the Director of Projects & Development at Indwell, a Hamilton-based Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness and belonging. Graham has overseen the development of affordable housing for almost 1,000 households across southern Ontario – often through adaptive-reuse of derelict buildings, or by new construction. Indwell has adopted Passive House energy-efficiency standards, becoming a Canadian leader in demonstrating the economic and environmental benefits of energy-efficient and accessible buildings.
Graham and his wife Emma, Principal at Invizij Architects, also help lead The Mustard Seed Co-op, Hamilton’s community-owned grocery store and were honoured as Hamiton’s Environmentalists of the Year in 2017. They are part of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Hamilton. Graham and Emma are committed to working out their faith to help realize a world where everyone can flourish.
In March 2019, the graduating students will receive a graduation package from the Registrar’s Office with tickets for the ceremony. Graduates may request additional convocation tickets from email@example.com. All ticket requests must be received by April 6th. Only ticket-holders will be admitted to the convocation ceremony.
Family and friends may purchase flowers for a graduate on the Convocation Flowers company website. Convocation Flowers will have a stand set up at the entrance to the ceremony where you can pick-up your order on the way in.
