Estate Planning 101

This webinar will serve as an introduction to the fundamentals of estate planning, with a particular focus on the importance of having a legally valid Will in place. We’ll explore why a Will is a critical part of any estate plan, regardless of age or wealth, and discuss what can happen if someone passes away without one. Topics will include the key components of a Will, how to make decisions about important roles that are assigned in a Will, and common misconceptions about the process.

In addition, we’ll provide a brief demonstration of the Epilogue Wills platform to show just how simple and accessible it can be to create a Will online. The demo will also highlight how easy it is to include a charitable gift in your Will. Whether you’re looking to get started on your own will or simply want to learn more, this webinar is designed to provide clear, practical guidance in an approachable way.

Two identical sessions will be hosted on November 4 from noon to 1 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Registration is required.

Featured Speakers:

Daniel Goldgut is the Co-Founder and CEO of Epilogue Wills, Canada’s leading online estate planning platform. A former tax and estate planning lawyer, Daniel recognized the need for a simpler, more accessible way for Canadians to create Wills and Powers of Attorney. In 2019, he co-founded Epilogue with the mission of making estate planning easy, affordable, and convenient.

Arin Klug is the Co-Founder and COO of Epilogue Wills. Before starting Epilogue, Arin practiced as a tax and estate planning lawyer in downtown Toronto, where he helped clients implement estate plans to achieve their personal, business, and philanthropic objectives. While in practice, Arin saw first-hand how difficult it is for people to start — let alone finish — the Will-making process. After learning that approximately two-thirds of Canadian adults do not have an up-to-date Will, Arin and his co-founder Daniel were motivated to start Epilogue. Their mission is to make estate planning accessible to all Canadians.
