" I am currently the Canadian Chief Financial Officer for a Quality of Life Solutions company called Sodexo. One of our clients is Redeemer Univeristy College. We provide the delicious food in the cafeteria. As I think back to how I ended up here and how Redeemer prepared me for this, there are a number of factors that come to mind. First off, Redeemer enabled me to face life eyes wide open. I was a business major who was enlightened to history, sociology, sciences and the arts. This enables me to make decisions with a holistic view and not just based on dollars and cents. The community environment at Redeemer through the dorms, classrooms and extra-curricular activities gives you a sense of belonging. This isn’t part of the curriculum yet it taught me that being part of a community is valuable. This leads into the ability to hold others accountable since the smaller class sizes I experienced at Redeemer helped keep me accountable. Group projects were amongst members in your community. The community at Redeemer was there to help you be successful. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the co-op program. I started at Sodexo through the co-op program at Redeemer as a telemarketer and moved through many different roles. My Redeemer education was an enabler for this personal growth. Redeemer not only provided me with an education, they also provided me a better understanding of the importance of belonging to a community that holds others up in a world that tries to push people down. God created us in a day and it was good, He gives us a lifetime to be great. Redeemer was a large part of my journey towards greatness. "
