" To a student, a teacher’s life seems mysterious. I became part of this “mysterious” way of life thanks to Redeemer’s incredible education program. The small class sizes enabled me to build connections and relationships with my peers and professors. The support, encouragement, and challenges presented to me by these outstanding professors gave me the confidence and courage required to begin shaping children’s lives. The core courses of Redeemer provided me with a well-rounded foundation that I use everyday in my grade 4 classroom. The immersion opportunities offered by the French department gave me invaluable cultural and linguistic knowledge and skills that are applied daily in my French classes. However, all the amazing things mentioned above would be void if not for the faith that was at the foundation of every lesson taught at Redeemer. This foundational faith has become a natural part of my teaching practice and influences the way I interact with colleagues and how I view my students. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Shailene is the Grade 4 and Core French teacher, as well as, Co-Vice Principal at Huron Christian School. "
