Dive into the rich history, philosophy and character of the Reformed Christian tradition.

Over three terms, students engage with foundational Reformed thinkers, including Augustine, Calvin, Bavinck, and Dooyeweerd, and learn to apply these Scriptural insights and frameworks to the most pressing issues in modern society. How might Augustine’s teachings on human corruption inform how one engages with artificial intelligence? How might Bavinck’s frameworks address thorny questions about religious freedom in a diverse society?

As the most influential Protestant tradition in the English speaking world, Reformed thought represents a diverse group of scholars and works that offer historical wisdom, theological truths and governing approaches—that all hold immense value for modern society. The MA in Reformed Thought prepares students to dive deeply into the source texts and uncover timeless lessons and perspectives that will help them navigate the challenges of the present.
