Music Performance
Program Intro

What does music tell us about the nature and character of God?

Be captivated by music as you cultivate your talent and develop your skills. Music plays an important role in our worship and service to God and his church. Explore the biblical, historical and theoretical context of music through composition, performance, theory and history under the guidance of experienced, practicing musicians.

Music Performance is offered as a minor.

Quick Links

Right from the start, your classes and dedicated faculty help you build a strong foundation in theory and aural skills. Opportunities for group discussion, in-class practice and access to space and instruments help you gain confidence and deepen your appreciation for music.

The addition of a Music Performance minor to your degree means that the extra concentration of skills, experiences and foundational knowledge broadens the scope of what you're already learning as part of your major.

In the Classroom

Learning spaces are designed with the unique needs of the music program in mind such as sound-proofing, acoustics, staged seating, instruments and other equipment. This provides a conducive learning environment for courses like Conducting, Music in Culture and World Musics.

Beyond Campus

The Redeemer Concert Choir is an auditioned ensemble of 35-40 singers from various majors who perform a repertoire spanning five centuries of choral music treasures. The choir periodically tours throughout Canada and the United States.
