Program Intro

How does human movement showcase that we are fearfully and wonderfully made?

Study human mobility in all its complexities and application and gain a deep appreciation for how we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Redeemer's Physical Education program teaches about movement from the perspective of physiology, anatomy, psychology, sociology, biomechanics, lifestyle and behaviour. Develop and share your love of sports, play and wellness through games, fitness and athletics.

Physical Education is a Bachelor of Arts degree program. It is offered as a major and as a minor.

Right from the start, small class sizes allow for meaningful class discussion, lead by professors who are actively researching in the field and excited to include students in their work.

First-year courses provide foundational skills and knowledge in human anatomy, focusing on how the body moves and functions. Opportunities to learn about and practice unique ways of pursuing whole-person wellness through sport and other activities are central to the program and excellent preparation for teaching and leading others.

Physical Education The Core

The Core Curriculum is a set of 10 courses that every student takes. The courses are woven through every major and get you to think deeply and broadly about what you’re studying. Think about it this way…

  • Athletic therapists provide better care when they understand the psychosocial and spiritual stories of their patients.
  • Teachers can communicate with poignancy when they understand the psyche of their audience.
  • Coaches have a deeper sense of compassion when they ground themselves in the narrative of Scripture.
