How is God glorified through movement and healthy, active living?
Redeemer students in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Psychology, and Applied Social Science majors can complete the intensive recreation therapy program in the winter semester of their third year and the summer before their final year at Redeemer. Recreation therapy provides service to, and advocates for, individuals with physical, mental, social, behavioural, or emotional limitations through meaningful experiences in recreation and leisure in a variety of settings.
Recreation Therapy is a dual enrolment option offered in partnership with Mohawk College. Upon graduation students will have completed both a Bachelor's degree and a diploma.
Right from the start, you're earning a degree that provides the depth, practical knowledge and skills, and the Christian perspective that will set you apart in the workforce.
By partnering with Mohawk College in your third year, you can graduate with an additional diploma in Recreation Therapy, solidifying your skill set and preparing you to serve God by compassionately serving those with limitations through recreational activities.
The Recreation Therapy dual-enrolment program is a partnership that allows Redeemer students to enter Mohawk College’s program after two-and-a-half years at Redeemer. Students then complete one semester of study and one summer internship at Mohawk and then return to Redeemer for their last semester. Up to five Redeemer students will be accepted into the Mohawk program each semester.
Take that first step and experience Redeemer’s one-of-a-kind community like never before. Visiting campus — whether in-person or online — is the best way to figure out if Redeemer is the right fit for you.
