Recreation Therapy is a dual enrolment option offered in partnership with Mohawk College. Upon graduation students will have completed both a Bachelor's degree and a diploma.

Redeemer students in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Psychology, and Applied Social Science majors can complete the intensive recreation therapy program in the winter semester of their third year and summer before their final year at Redeemer. Recreation therapy provides service to, and advocates for, individuals with physical, mental, social, behavioural or emotional limitations through meaningful experiences in recreation and leisure in a variety of settings.

Program Timeline

The Recreation Therapy dual-enrolment program is a partnership that allows Redeemer students to enter Mohawk’s program after two-and-a-half years at Redeemer. Students then complete one semester of study and one summer internship at Mohawk, and then return to Redeemer for their last semester. Up to five Redeemer students will be accepted into the Mohawk program each semester.
