We struggle to make sense of our shifting world, our shifting dynamics. Professor Phil Irish’s collaged installations and aluminium constructions embrace this uncertainty and sense of fragmentation, while also providing provisional resolutions – a beauty and rhythm arise from the clash of forces.

Significant Collisions selects from several bodies of work spanning 6 years of sustained exploration. The imagery references the Rocky Mountains and Alberta’s Oil Sands as well as Irish’s 2017 visit to the Arctic aboard the Canada C3 icebreaker.

Anchoring the show, 3 architecturally-scaled collages transform Redeemer University’s exhibition space with explosions of colour and undulating sculptural forms.
