The president's message from the 2023-24 annual report.
I am filled with gratitude for the many blessings and achievements that have marked the 2023-24 academic year. This annual report represents Redeemer’s mission in action over that time, as we prepared students to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in every career and calling. As we look back on the stories of students, faculty and alumni, we give thanks for God’s abundant faithfulness and we see his redemptive work as they have an impact that resounds in the culture and across the world.
The theme for the past year was Learning in Christ. We focused on Colossians 2:6-7: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Faculty and staff lived into this theme alongside 1,052 students, more than 550 of whom lived on campus. We are grateful for a strong enrolment that reflects the continued trust and confidence placed in Redeemer by students and families seeking a transformative educational experience rooted in the Reformed Christian tradition.
Together, we anticipate the future with hope, and we pray also that God will grant wisdom as we remain rooted and built up in him.
As we look to the future, we are excited by the launch of new programs that will diversify Redeemer’s academic offerings and expand its Kingdom impact. In 2024-25, the university will launch church leadership microcredentials, and not-for-profit management, pre-law and liberal arts certificates with flexible delivery models. Plans are underway to launch Redeemer’s first graduate programs within the next two years, demonstrating the university’s commitment to meeting the needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s marketplace.
God’s faithfulness is shown to us through the generous and supportive community that continues to surround us with prayer, encouragement and financial support. Together, we anticipate the future with hope, and we pray also that God will grant wisdom as we remain rooted and built up in him.
