Thursday, May 30th 2019 marked the final event in support of the Campaign for Redeemer 2020: the Re Golf Tournament!

138 golfers met on the greens of the beautiful Copetown Woods Golf Club in Copetown, Ontario for a day of golf where participants competed in teams of four in an eighteen-hole scramble competition.

I was delighted to meet with many of our supporters – and golf enthusiasts – at the Re Golf Tournament” shared Redeemer’s President, Dr. Robert J. Graham. “We are grateful to all who made the tournament a success. Support for the tournament – and the Re Campaign – is providing momentum to build a strong future for Redeemer by ensuring that Christian higher education is accessible and relevant for the next generation.

Despite a forecast of rain, the weather was beautiful for most of the day allowing golfers to enjoy a BBQ lunch, play eighteen holes of golf, and end the day with a buffet dinner and prizes for the winning teams.

With thanks to sponsors and participants, more than $65,000 was raised for the Re Golf Tournament, contributing to more than $18.7M raised to date for the Re Campaign” reported Dr. David Zietsma, Vice President of External Relations and Enrolment. “The campaign has allowed us to proceed with strategic initiatives: renewing the academic program, retelling Redeemer’s story through a digital and integrated marketing, and stewarding our resources through debt reduction. With God’s blessing and continued financial support we hope to complete the $20M Re Campaign this year.”

The Re Golf Tournament was made possible in part by the support of gold level sponsor Shademaster, silver level sponsors Budget, Cedar Springs, ELO Group, and Sodexo and bronze level sponsors Bartels Group, Church Social, Klassic Coconut, Reinders and Reinder and Select Stone. Redeemer thanks all of the 40+ companies who contributed sponsorship or prizes for this event.

The Re Golf Tournament was one for the books! Thank you to all who participated.
