This is a full-time position and includes benefits and pension.
Coordinate and execute communications on Redeemer’s multifaceted channels, including redeemer.ca, email marketing, the internal University portal and Redeemer’s social media channels. Invest in our relationships with alumni, churches, parents, students and brand ambassadors by sharing Redeemer’s stories through content creation and distribution.
- Content Development — You’ll write and edit digital and print content that clearly and persuasively communicates Redeemer’s brand to many audiences, both internal and external. You will work creatively in digital and print mediums to implement Redeemer’s communication strategies.
- Social Media — You will write social media posts and engage with followers in a way that communicates who we are and what we do to audiences both familiar and unfamiliar with Redeemer University College. You are able to craft messaging for and build community on many social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
- Media Relations Management — You will help get the word out about Redeemer’s mission by contributing to media releases and helping send out media releases to key influencers (especially through digital channels).
- Internal Communications Coordination — You will communicate with and connect Redeemer’s faculty, staff and students by maintaining the internal University portal and by coordinating messaging through other digital platforms.
What We’re Looking For
Education and Experience
You have a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a synonymous discipline or a diploma in a similar discipline plus two years of professional experience. You’ve worked in communications for missional and/or non-profit organizations.
Our Mission and Vision
You have a thorough understanding of Redeemer’s vision and mission as a Christian university and are able to represent it effectively and winsomely in work on the web, in print and on social media.
You’re a great communicator who can share ideas in many formats and across many platforms. You can tackle everything from news stories to event listings, and, at the same time, communicate who we are as an institution. You can translate content fluidly from vehicle to vehicle and distil a large amount of information into key messages targeted to the interests and needs of each audience Redeemer interacts with. You have written and produced print and digital content (web, social media) for organizations, especially missional or non-profit institutions.
You’re confident in communicating using digital tools. You have experience creating and disseminating content with Mailchimp and websites. Knowledge of HTML and SEO best practices at the content production level is an asset. You understand the best practices of social media management and digital marketing. You can write persuasive social posts on behalf of an institution. You are confident in contributing to social media scheduling and monitoring through platforms like Sprout Social.
You can create multimedia content for communication channels. You are skilled in executing, editing and posting photos and videos.
You’re organized and detail-oriented and ensure information is shared in a timely manner. You’re confident in working from and giving feedback on communication plans.
