Funny how things happen when you least expect them. As two ”mature” women who work in the Bookstore we have been dealing with moving a mother and a mother-in-law to a retirement home and a nursing home.
Dorothy needed to move to get quite a lot of help while Marie moved to get just a little help. Both women, coming from different backgrounds, different situations, had opposite reactions. On Mondays, sharing with one another the progress after Saturday visits has shown us both how God works the same way in two different lives. How we pray for each to be at peace, make new friends, and adjust to their new homes.
God has been at work in helping both of us, and our mothers, see the good and focus on the positive things that they, and we, are adjusting to.
What we’re experiencing is God working in all generations: older, younger and every one in-between. All of us encounter transitions, both big and small, but our Father of all will guide us through every one of them.
