God Sightings: One Hope Part 2

By: Phil Teeuwsen from the Education Department

“Someone give us a word of hope”.

This semester my students and I have been exploring Education Law. This can be a difficult undertaking as we dig into cases where people did not uphold the law, did not teach faithfully and diligently, did not uphold the ethical standards expected of teachers. We are burdened with the reality. And yet, in the midst of this, we saw God. At the end of one of our classes, I asked for a word of hope from the class, and I received it. A student reminded us that the Lord is our hope, He is never far, and we can expect true joy through Him. I asked for a word of hope and I received it. It wasn’t far away; it was right there.

We are one in our need for hope. We are one in the hope we receive.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism;  one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4: 4, 5.
