God Sightings: God’s in a box?

At Redeemer, it is easy to get comfortable with God. Relying on local churches, conversations with friends, and the ‘high’ from on-campus ministries make it easy to love God.

Because of this, we can sometimes lose the passion for pursuing God when we are outside of this campus.

I was talking to one of my friends, who said she had a tough time ‘seeing’ God this summer. Doubt started to consume her thoughts as she tried to find that sense of comfort in Christ. Until she remembered Church in the Box.

She told me that though she could doubt as much as she wanted, there was no way to deny that the Holy Spirit crashed through the monthly CITB services last year.

She could see this in the passionate, goofy grin on my face as I was drumming or how Nico would dance across the stage with his guitar. Or in the goose bumps that came when the CEW team’s skit hit home and in the smiling faces of the Hospitality team. God was working in all of us when we heard the teachings from our speakers, or even the times God spoke to us all through someone’s prayer.

God is seen so evidently in so many different ways at Church in the Box, and I invite you to come see Him work through the next service on October 23 @ 7:00pm!

I also challenge you to allow God to guide you. God often works by tapping you on the shoulder, giving you thoughts/ideas to guide you. Don’t fight those taps, but rather live them out. Become more aware of the work that God is doing in your life. Get alone with God and open your ears to what He has to say to you in prayer.

For your Reflection:

1) What do you sense God is nudging you to do or say to someone else in this time?
2) How are you going to respond?
