Movember’s Moustache Madness

Redeemer participates in fight against prostate cancer

Over the past few year’s moustaches around the world are grown and groomed each November to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and awareness. Redeemer also participated in this hairy, but fun, initiative, which is organized by Prostate Cancer Canada. This year, another incentive was added to encourage Redeemer men to grow their moustaches….The Mophy, a moustache trophy, would be awarded to the best ‘stache at Redeemer. No distinction was made between student, staff or faculty — A moustache was a moustache. It came down to 10 full-facially-follicled Redeemer men. They were judged by a panel of three women, whose moustache-judging abilities were deemed to be impartial . They tugged and prodded at each moustache and finally crowned third-year student Marshall Biller as the winner of the Mophy for 2011. Beyond the honour of winning the Mophy, Marshall also received a sweater from the Redeemer bookstore. A special thanks to all who participated including several of the female staff members who adorned moustaches for the judging ceremony. Please check out the website to learn more about Movember, and to make a donation to fight one of the most common cancers to affect men.
