Mike ’99 and Amanda ’99 Kleinhuis moved to Lindsay, Ontario, in August 2015 to plant a community church in the poorest area of town. Centre Community Church is a combined effort of a few different local churches in Lindsay, each wanting to see a strong, evangelical presence in that neighbourhood. A common question they get asked is, “What do church planters do all day?” Well, if you pop into Tim Horton’s on Lindsay St. in the afternoon you might find Mike there studying and praying. He does this to be visible in the neighbourhood and to start conversations with community members over a cup of coffee.
