New site provides greatly increased accessibility and functionality for all audiences

On Tuesday, September 1, Redeemer launched a new website, it’s first significant upgrade in 8 years. It provides a great first impression and offers a  host of resources to help students and others learn more about Redeemer.

A 12-person team from across the University worked for more that a year to create the new site, a process that included soliciting input from staff, faculty, students and alumni. Developed with London, ON-based Resolution Interactive Media, the new site provides users with greatly-increased functionality through a more modern design, greater social media integration and a more intuitive and robust navigation.

This website has been designed primarily for prospective students, to provide them with the information they need to make an informed decision about Redeemer and all that is has to offer:

  • Prospective students, their parents and other influencers can use intuitive search features to explore Redeemer’s academic programs and degree options.
  • Each of the program descriptions include an overview of the program, the courses offered, faculty in the department and experiential learning opportunities.
  • The Paying for University tab will include a Financial Aid application that will allow students to apply for institutional and external sources of scholarships and bursaries. That tool will be live in a few weeks.
  • The Admissions tab provides all the information about the admissions process that students will need, as well as the ability for them to apply directly from the site (Redeemer is not included in the Ontario University Application Centre’s central application process).

Throughout the site, students are encouraged to contact representatives of the Admissions Department. “Choosing a university is one of the most significant — and potentially stressful — decisions that a high school student will make,” notes Willem de Ruijter, Redeemer’s Director of Admissions. “By developing a relationship with students, right from the start of the university search process, we hope to lessen some of the anxiety they may be feeling. Providing students with a name and a face is a valuable resource that helps avoid confusion and provides guidance throughout the application process.”

Although designed primarily for students, the website also includes news and information for all audiences about Redeemer’s faculty and their research activities, news about the University and upcoming events.

The best way to learn more about the site and all it has to offer visitors is to just take some time to explore it. Redeemer thanks all those who were involved in building the site, and welcomes comments and suggestion about this new tool for telling its story. Please send an email to communications@redeemer.ca. We look forward to making our primary window to the world even better.
