Redeemer University has set another record with 1,147 students enrolled this fall, marking the largest enrolment in Redeemer’s history. Since 2017, Redeemer has experienced repeated record-breaking enrolment growth. Overall, enrolment has grown from 647 to 1,147, an increase of 77 per cent over the last 10 fall terms.
With a record incoming class of 394 students and 594 living in residence, more students are choosing a vibrant faith community where they can learn, grow, and discern and develop their callings. This year, Redeemer also launched its first graduate program, a Master of Education, adding 25 new graduate students to the student body.
We see God’s continued faithfulness towards this institution over the last 44 years and step boldly into the next decade of continued growth.
Students are coming to Redeemer from all across Canada with nine provinces represented and reflecting a rich diversity of church backgrounds spanning 51 denominations. Beyond Canada, Redeemer’s international students represent 19 countries around the world.
“This is a historic fall term for Redeemer, including the largest incoming class and the university’s first graduate cohort,” said Meghan Taylor, associate vice president of enrolment. “We see God’s continued faithfulness towards this institution over the last 44 years and step boldly into the next decade of continued growth.”
Students today are seeking to connect their faith and sense of purpose to their learning, the development of their gifts and their long term career planning.
With the recent increase in demand for on-campus housing and continued growth projected over the next five years, Redeemer is expanding its housing capacity to ensure every student who wants to live on campus can do so. To meet this demand, the university is planning the construction of a new residence facility.
“Students today are seeking to connect their faith and sense of purpose to their learning, the development of their gifts and their long term career planning,” said Dr. David Zietsma, Redeemer’s president. “They desire a transformative education that helps them find a sense of God’s calling for their life and builds confidence that they can bring the redeeming love of Jesus Christ to any area of work and service.”
